Tour Program

Day 1

Girne – Beşparmak Tour

We meet at the specified time and departure points and take our Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen – Ercan flight PC1910 Pegasus Airlines at 06:00. As an agency, we will meet at Ercan Airport with our specialized guides to explore the cultural and geographical riches of our beautiful country. We will then proceed to the Karaoğlanoğlu Martyrs’ Memorial, built in memory of the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers who fell as martyrs at the first landing point on the island during the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation, and named after the Regiment Commander Colonel İbrahim Karaoğlanoğlu, who was martyred in the first landing. During this visit, we will have the opportunity to visit the Open Air Museum, where military vehicles left behind by the Greeks while fleeing and those retired after being used by the Turks are displayed, and to photograph the Peace and Freedom Monument. Yavuz Landing Beach and the Freedom Monument are also other points of interest during this visit. Afterwards, we will proceed to Girne Yacht Harbor. After visiting Kyrenia Castle, whose foundations were laid by the Byzantines in the 7th century and which was developed and used by the Lusignans and Venetians throughout history, and which took its present form during the Ottoman period, we will enjoy tea and coffee during our free time at the harbor. Afterwards, we will visit Bellapais Monastery, one of the finest examples of Eastern Gothic architecture, located in the village of Beylerbeyi at the foot of the Five Finger Mountains of Kyrenia. Originally built in the 12th century during the Roman period, it has been extended to the present day with medieval additions. Afterwards, we will return to our hotel.

Day 3

Nicosia-Famagusta Tour – Return to Sabiha Gökçen Airport;

After breakfast at our hotel, we will depart at 09:30 to begin our tour. Our first visit is the Martyrs’ Cemetery in the Bosphorus. Then we will arrive in Nicosia and have a panoramic view of the Museum of Barbarism, which was opened to the public on January 1, 1966, and was converted into a museum after the December 1963 incident in which the house of Major Nihat İlhan, serving in the Cyprus Turkish Forces Regiment, was raided by Greek Cypriot militants affiliated with EOKA. We will cross the Green Line border area and have the opportunity to photograph the neighborhoods on both sides of this border line that divides the island of Cyprus in two. Afterwards, we will see the Nicosia Walls, built in the 14th century during the Lusignan period and expanded in the 16th century by the Venetians to protect the city against the Ottomans. We will then pass through the old gate leading to Kyrenia (Kyrenia Gate). After completing our visits to the Nicosia Grand Inn and the Selimiye Mosque, we will head towards Famagusta. First, we’ll visit the Varosha Border Crossing, where we can see the site of a massive hotel under construction that was hastily abandoned following the 1974 operation in Cyprus, and houses bearing bullet marks. From this area, which was one of the world’s largest tourist centers in the 1970s, we’ll explore the Famagusta Walls, also known as the Lusignan Walls. These walls were later renovated in the 1550s by the Venetians, who then took precautions against the Ottomans, and subsequently repaired by the Ottomans after their conquest of Famagusta. Within the walls, we’ll have free time for exploration and shopping. We are visiting the Namık Kemal Prison, named after our national poet Namık Kemal, where he was exiled to Cyprus in April 1873 after his play “Homeland or Silistre” was performed at the Gedik Paşa Theatre in Istanbul, and where he was imprisoned for approximately 38 months until he was pardoned by Murad V in June 1876. We will complete our Famagusta tour with visits to the Venetian Palace ruins and the St. Nicolas Cathedral, now used as the Lala Mustafa Paşa Mosque, followed by free time. Afterwards, we will transfer to the airport for our Pegasus Airlines flight PC1925, departing at 21:20 from Ercan to Sabiha Gökçen.

Breakfast: Will be served as an open buffet or set menu at the hotel. (Included in the price.)
Lunch: Will be taken at a designated restaurant or at free time. (Extra)
